I have just returned from several days in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Smart Energy conference. The event provided timely updates on clean energy developments in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, including efforts to reduce carbon emissions and expand renewable energy infrastructure.
The conference included updates on several ongoing projects in Nova Scotia, such as the province’s efforts to promote and establish an offshore wind sector. These efforts are tied to the goal of reducing carbon emissions by transitioning from coal-sourced electricity to wind-generated electricity.

Triple Point’s Salt Dome energy storage project was one of the key projects discussed. Located on the west coast of Newfoundland, the project is expected to require:
• 700 construction staff
• 70 operational staff once the facility is established
I look forward to attending this event again next year.
